A highly successful and expanding motor group is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Car Buyer to support multiple dealerships across various regions. This is a senior, high-impact role suited to a seasoned professional who understands volume purchasing across both mid-range and premium vehicle segments.
The Role
The Senior Car Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and securing quality used vehicles at the right price, in line with each dealership’s stock profile, market demand and profitability targets. You will work across multiple brands, locations and vehicle segments, requiring excellent market awareness and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
High-volume sourcing and purchasing of used vehicles across mid-range to premium brands
Buying stock for multiple dealerships and multiple geographic areas
Maintaining an in-depth understanding of regional market trends, pricing and consumer demand
Accurately assessing vehicle values to ensure competitive pricing and strong margins
Leveraging established networks, auctions, wholesalers and trade channels to secure stock
Managing availability, turnaround times and logistics to ensure stock flow
Working closely with dealership management teams to align purchasing with sales strategies
Ensuring compliance with internal purchasing standards and group requirements
Job Requirements
Matric Certificate
A valid Drivers License
Proven experience as a Senior / High-Volume Car Buyer within a dealership or motor group environment
Extensive knowledge of the current used vehicle market, pricing structures and demand trends
Demonstrated experience buying for multiple dealerships or regions
Strong understanding of how regional markets differ and how to tailor stock accordingly
Excellent negotiation, decision-making and relationship management skills
Ability to perform under pressure and make fast, commercially sound buying decisions
Strong administrative discipline and attention to detail
Fully Bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
Solid and stable employment history
