Description

Regional Stock Controller - Multi-Franchised Dealership Group

Western Cape, Milnerton

Market related salary package depending on experience

An established and growing independent motor group is looking for a hands-on, highly organised Regional Stock Controller to oversee stock operations across multiple dealerships. This is a high-pressure, detail-driven role that requires someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves — from managing reports and systems to physically walking the yard and checking vehicles. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring stock accuracy, process discipline, and operational efficiency across the group.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of vehicle stock control across multiple dealerships, including:

  • Managing Stock Controllers, Recon Clerks, and Key Controllers
  • Overseeing vehicle stock movements, de-fleets, and inter-branch transfers
  • Ensuring all vehicles are correctly stocked, invoiced, and recorded on systems
  • Managing and maintaining live stock sheets across all dealerships
  • Ensuring all vehicle documentation, service histories, and compliance records are complete and accurate
  • Conducting regular site visits and physical stock checks
  • Ensuring yard standards are maintained (number plates, stickers, vehicle presentation)
  • Overseeing key control, stock takes, and security processes
  • Implementing and maintaining SOPs and operational procedures
  • Managing staff performance, training, and general oversight within the division

 Requirements

  • Proven experience in motor dealership stock control (multi-branch advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong system capability (Keyloop experience advantageous)
  • A hands-on, practical approach — not office-bound
  • Willingness to travel between dealerships regularly
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident in managing staff and addressing performance issues firmly but tactfully
  • High attention to detail and accountability
  • Valid driver’s licence

This role is best suited to someone who thrives in a busy, demanding environment, takes ownership, and is willing to be both strategic and hands-on in ensuring everything runs as it should.
