Assistant Accountant – Motor Dealership

We are seeking a detail-driven, highly organised Assistant Accountant to support the Accountant in delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations across the dealership. This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives on precision, enjoys working with numbers and people, and takes pride in keeping financial processes running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Debtors and Creditors management, including reconciliations and follow-ups
- Assisting with bookkeeping, journals, and month-end processes
- Liaising confidently with Sales, Parts, and Service departments to resolve queries
- Ensuring timely collections and payments in line with company policies
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audits
- Working with accounting systems and advanced Excel reporting
Requirements:
- 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience (motor dealership experience highly advantageous)
- Solid understanding of debtors, creditors, and bookkeeping principles
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems
- Excellent follow-up skills, discretion, and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Trustworthy, proactive, and solutions-focused
